Living in Colour

Buttons Project and Haven Pregnancy Support have partnered to offer Living in Colour, an 8-week healing and recovery programme for women who have experienced abortion. This programme will be run in Auckland in a safe, supportive, and confidential environment.

Abortion-related grief is often unspoken and misunderstood, which can make it difficult to process the emotional impact of the experience. When grief remains unresolved, it can surface in many ways—such as sadness, anger, anxiety, challenges in relationships, or a sense of disconnection—and for some, these feelings may emerge many years later.

Living in Colour has been used successfully around the world and gently guides participants through understanding their experience, the circumstances surrounding it, and the emotions connected to it. The programme creates space for reflection, healing, and hope, with the final chapter celebrating the journey from the “grey zone” of unresolved loss into a life marked by greater colour, freedom, and peace.

Programme details:
When: Monday evenings, 7–8:30pm
Dates: 2 February – 30 March 2026 (Break on Monday 9 March)
Where: Windsor Park Centre, 550 East Coast Road, Mairangi Bay
Cost: $35 (includes the workbook manual). Sponsorship is available for those who need it.
